In a bid to showcase the country’s investments in science and technology to improve the philippines quality of life, President Arroyo showed off today her outfit which was dyed using natural dyes for young coconut.
The old rose dye was created by the Philippine Textile Reseach Institute and used in a formal executive outfit designed by NY based designer Anthony Cruz Legarda.

when homobono adaza was arrested wednesday afternoon in galleria, his partisans were quick to say that its part of a destabilze me scenario—-since adaza et al were arrested on charges of proposing to commit a coup d’etat. the case supposedly stems from a complaint filed by erstwhile estrada lawyer raymond fortun. however that day, no one seemed to be able to reach fortun, adaza himself wasnt keen on talking about what he and fortun really talked about—-and the pnp was just not too knowledgaeble about the supposed plot. so many things didnt add up. first, there was no buzz of a military putsch. second, adaza just had no wherewithal to stage a coup—-he belonged to no major group, and his association with retired officers wasnt enough capital. not even his being a lawyer for the magdalo was enough to convince observers of a serious threat against the administration. there were talks fortun set adaza up with the help of government—-but that just didnt fly because it defied logic that early on why fortun would want to do that.
and so to my mind—-it emerged—-it seemed that this coup of sorts—-was just a business transaction gone awry. and from the follow up story i filed for abs-cbn—-it did seem that way.

President arroyo was in cebu today, continuing to make up for her time away by being with victims of the typhoon and ferry accident, as well as those who helped in rescue efforts.
In her speech before the air force anniversary, she justified her trip before a branch of the military which has been largely a reason for her support base.
